Speaker profiles:
Valentas Neviera is the Head of Group Sustainability at Ignitis Group, where he leads efforts to embed sustainability into the company’s core operations. He began his career in communications and corporate affairs, but now he drives initiatives focused on net zero goals and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles integration across the whole organisation. Valentas is a strong advocate for transparency, diversity, emotional well-being, and maintaining high standards across the entire value chain. A big part of his mission is making sustainability something everyone in the company thinks about – not just a side project, but a central part of the big picture.
Agota Greičiūnienė is the Asset Performance and Optimisation Manager at Ignitis Renewables. She and her team analyse the operational data from onshore wind and solar assets to understand how the assets perform and maximize their output. Agota came to Ignitis from an academic career as a researcher, knowledge exchange fellow and lecturer at the University of Hull (England), before which she conducted an international (Italy-Germany) PhD in wave loading models on offshore wind turbines. CYSENI feels like home to her, as she had presented her PhD research here back in 2017 and 2018!
Algirdas Dučinskas leads the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) team at Ignitis Group. With a PhD from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), he specializes in data-driven solutions for energy system optimization. His work focuses on integrating advanced battery storage technologies to enhance grid flexibility and support the transition to renewable energy sources. Algirdas is also a key contributor to Ignitis Group’s Innovation Hub, which fosters open innovation in Power-to-X, clean technologies, and digitalization. Through initiatives like the #EnergySmartSTART project, he actively engages with emerging talents to drive forward-thinking solutions in the energy sector.
