Mr. Justus Oldenburg received a Diploma degree in physics from Heidelberg University (Germany) and worked for a start-up company in Durham, England, before he began his career at the Gesellschaft für Anlagen- und Reaktorsicherheit (GRS) in 2009 in Cologne, Germany. GRS is a nonprofit, non-governmental and independent research and expert organization in nuclear safety. In the following years he focused on new reactor designs and respective international developments including improved licensing strategies and prerequisites for nuclear construction projects. He deepened his expertise during a one-year research stay in the Office of New Reactors at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (Maryland, USA) in 2011. Mr. Oldenburg also took part in several projects supporting foreign nuclear authorities in licensing issues and provided his experience in international working groups and training courses. In 2016 he changed position within GRS and is now secretary of the technical director of GRS.
